And lastly, the pacing seemed way too slow for a twenty four hour novel. Sarah becomes closer to Nikolas in this novel and sorta loses a little of her relationship with Kristopher, but otherwise it was an easy read.
For the most part, I loved it. But the way it was ammelia was distasteful. Released on May 13, the novel tells the story Vance Ehecatl, a quetzal shapeshifter, who was raised by the vampires Jaguar and Taro in Midnight when he was abandoned as a baby. I also didn’t like that so many new characters were introduced without time given to really understand their motivations or even what their part was–Fredrick, for instance–though I did eventually figure things out.
Even with a pretty “loosely” ameloa series, there are some strong connections from this to those first four. The only thing that didn’t work for me is the timing. Although Atwaterrhodes tries to break off the friendship with Christopher, she soon learns of his past and jut out to confront Nikolas but can she survive it?
And it’s something she knows she must fulfill at all maelia. There were way too many characters and the book jumped to too many different points of view, and although the gimmick of it all taking place in 24 hours was all right, there was still no real character development and most of the multitude of characters were so indistinct it was hard to tell them apart.
Adia’s story wasn’t bad, but like I said, there was significantly less tension, and it wasn’t as well written. There was no emotional resonance with any of the other characters. How do I fit in all of this action in only a few minutes? GothicHorrorVampireTeen. Atwater-Rhodes wrote her first novel at the age of thirteen, which earned her the title of “teen successor to Anne Rice. It should give some continuation of that story: Sarah was raised from a very young age to kill vampires, however she has problems staying unemotional.
I wanted to chuck the book across the room at the epically anticlimactic ending.
There are a lot of terms and ideas that are just implied and not explicitly stated. Fans of Shattered Mirror will be happy glas All Just Glass answers a lot of old questions, but that happiness will be crushed once they get to the end and are left with ten times more questions.
Given how much I enjoyed reading Amelia’s works in the past I would not discount reading future works from her; I would just hope that they would be more in line with Den of Shadows. Aug 12, Trina Collins rated it really liked it Shelves: If you can turn your head off to the whole time, and how time passes idea, then there would be ameoia problem.
When you have so many and there’s no rhyme nor reason when they switch? Caryn also appears in the novel Demon in My View. It’s a great device when it’s done well.
Atwater-Rhodes created a world I loved so much. Smoke witches are powerful healers and they do not fight or hunt vampires. Sarah, once a witch and vampire hunter, is now a vampire herself, turned by Nikolas and Kristopher. I loved that twist that the author put in. Which atwater-rrhodes everything not really making much sense since it’s supposed to take place in the course of 24 hours??
Jun 12, Pages Young Adult. I love music, galss I love to sing, and though I never had the courage or the talent to participate in any of the high school plays as a performer, I en I grew up in Concord, Massachusetts, where I matriculated through the public Concord-Carlisle school district from kindergarten until my graduation in It was fascinating to read atwater-rhodew how strict and emotionless her upbringing was, how she was taught to always have control over her feelings and bury those that weren’t allowed by the Vida clan so deep she could barely even feel them.

Also, I thought the ending was a copout. So if you’re expecting some romance like in the last book, you won’t get anything more than a few sentences of hugging, or holding hands briefly.

Because of Atwater-rhides long absence from killing, most vampire hunters have forgotten about Kristopher and only blame Nikolas for the various killings, including Elisabeth Vida. One of my very favorite aspects of Atwater-Rhodes’s writing has always been this really in-depth, complex, world that she’s created.
Vampireshapeshifterghostwitch. Malachi claims Vance is a bloodwitch and that Jaguar, Taro and Mistress Jeshickah, the leader of Midnight, are trying to control glass and use his powers.
